Hi, Welcome to Sachin Garg’s weblog. My name in devanagari is spelled as सचिन गर्ग. My resume is here, or
.
Briefly, I am a technology geek with more than a decade of industry experience, though my computing experience spans well over 2 decades. My major areas of interest revolve around Free and Open Source Software, especially GNU/Linux and the Internet. I am a big fan of software and tools that enable documents to be rich, both syntactically and semantically — tools like TeX, LaTeX and lately LyX. I am also a firm believer of the need to use Distributed Version Control Systems for software developers everywhere. Currently my technology interests are varied — spanning cloud computing, virtualization, document management etc. Some of the various papers and articles (not necessarily read) that I have collected over the years on various subjects can be found here .
My interests span beyond pure technology, and am especially interested in the impact of technology on society as well as its intersection with the Law, especially in the area of Intellectual Property Rights Law. As part of my PGDIPRL course at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, I did a comparative analysis of Moral Rights in Copyright Law as my dissertation, available here or scroll down for a preview.
